With school just about back in session, the holidays looming, and another dreaded Mercury Retrograde phase on the way, it's not a bad idea to get in touch with your mind and body through weekly group meditation.

While meditating at home may be more convenient and can provide just as many health benefits, there's definitely something to be said about meditating with a group of people (even if they're mostly strangers).

According to Unity of Boulder, group meditation can lower crime rates and allow people to experience oneness, brainwave synchronicity, and deeper healing. Meditation done alone or in a group is also said to help reverse heart disease, reduce pain, and enhance the body's immune system.

Unity of Boulder has been hosting a weekly group meditation service since 1978, but I literally just read about it online. So, chances are you never knew about it, either!

Their healing meditation service runs every Wednesday from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at the Unity of Boulder Spiritual Center located at 2855 Folsom Street, Boulder, Colorado 80304. They provide free childcare during the class and incorporate Tibetan singing bowls that represent the 7 chakras of our body.

This is an all-ages class and while it's available at no cost, donations are accepted.
