Greeley’s Speakeasy Reopens Tonight Under New Ownership
Although the upscale bar has no name, no phone number, and cannot be found anywhere on social media, it's all part of the allure that the new owners of the "secret" speakeasy hope will attract bar-goers in downtown Greeley.
The managers of Kress Cinema & Lounge are using word of mouth as the only way to advertise about their newest project – an intimate speakeasy, located underneath the cinema and lounge. Similar to Social in Fort Collins, there is no standing room for guests, and the bar is able to sit just 34 people. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with no options for parties larger than six. Visitors can indulge in nine exclusive craft cocktails that will be rotated around, as well as bar snacks and off-menu drinks, if available. One of Kress' managers, Justin Ghofrani, is already known for his creative and artistic cocktails, and this gives him a chance to really show them off to a different crowd. Renovations have paved the way for a brand new space, with a fancier vibe that takes guests directly back to the Prohibition-era. The large piano isn't just for decoration in the dimmed room either, the owners hope to have live music at some point, which would only add to the experience.
The new bar will open its doors for the first time this Friday. From then on, hours are 5-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 5-9 p.m. on Sunday. If you have trouble finding Greeley's newest bar, just ask anyone who works at Kress Cinema and Lounge to help lead the way!
