The Greeley Fire Department has deployed a Fire Engine and four wild-land certified firefighters to assist with wildfires in California. This past week dozens of fires erupted throughout the State of California creating a shortage of firefighting resources within the state.  The Greeley crew is being sent to Chino California where they will report for assignment. The crews will likely be working for up to 14 days once they reach California.

The Greeley engine and crew is part of a group of 22 engines and 85 firefighters from Colorado, which was deployed through the Colorado Office of Emergency Management who coordinated the request from California this weekend.

The Greeley firefighters deployed are Lt. Shawn Eggleston, Lt. Rich Wailder, FF. Josiah Trujillo and FF. Matt Pearson.
