Folds of Honor is hosting its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at Ptarmigan Country Club September 12 and they want you there!

Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that is out to help the family members, children and spouses of fallen or wounded veterans and at this year's Patriot Day Golf Tournament, they plan on doing just that.

"Tuned In to NoCo" got to speak with Major Mike Fassi who is the Colorado Wing Public Information Officer and the Assistant Director of Public Affairs with the Civil Air Patrol. Fassi says, this event is not only for a great cause, but should be a great time as well.

"It's a great opportunity to give back to veterans and their families...It's a fun time, it's a somber time. The patriots in Northern Colorado keep coming back. They really appreciate the effort and the opportunity to help the families and individuals that are going to need money or need money now."

Fassi says they raised over $50,000 at last year's tournament and the funds are directly helping local veterans and their families.

"Jason Hallet, is a Windsor resident with twins and a triple amputee. He knows that his kids' education will be taken care of with Folds of Honor and that's significant — It gives us a good feeling too."

It takes about 50 volunteers to help run the tournament and Fassi says you can sign-up to volunteer, play golf or donate right on their website or by clicking here.
