Go, Rams: 3 Big CSU-Related Highlights From Early January 2023
Between January 5 and January 8, 2023 Colorado State University was in the spotlight in three different ways, all great. The events covered education, sports, and beer.
We're talking about Colorado history, CSU Rams Football, and a random CSU Student making a half-court shot. Fun, fun, and more fun. These events will put smiles on the faces of many Rams fans; from current students, alumni, and just Rams fans.
I'd have to guess that not everyone caught all three of these events go down in early January of 2023. Individually, they're all great; pool them together, and you have yourself a trifecta of Ram Pride.
EVENT #1 - TEMPLE GRANDIN
On January 5, 2023, the wonderful and legendary Dr. Temple Grandin, a professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University was the Grand Marshall for the 117th National Western Stock Show Parade. She gave a great interview to 9News about her career and the importance of animal welfare, as well.

EVENT #2 - A YEAR OF BEER SHOT
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, the CSU Women's and Men's Basketball teams held a doubleheader at Moby Arena. Both teams won handedly (CSU Women over New Mexico 76-65, and CSU Men over Fresno State 79-65,) but there also one shot that won a CSU student a Year of Beer from New Belgium Brewing.
Tyler, donning a David Roddy jersey (Roddy was a standout player for CSU Men,) was given the opportunity to shoot for a year of beer. He needed to make just one half-court shot within 45 seconds, and he crushed it.

EVENT #3 - FORMER CSU PUNTER RYAN STONEHOUSE BREAKS NFL RECORDS
When Ryan Stonehouse was the punter for the CSU Rams, among his many awards and accolades, he set the NCAA career record for a punt average at 47.8 yards. He was one of the top punters in all of the NCAA, yet he went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans picked up Stonehouse, and did not regret it.
