Spice up your yard with a tree from the City of Fort Collins.

Starting on Saturday (June 6), the City will be providing $40 trees to Fort Collins residents via the Arbor Day Foundation's Community Canopy program, which aims to help the environment through strategic tree planting.

According to a press release from the City, 225 trees will be available in total, and an online program will help buyers determine the best location for their new tree.

Residents can reserve their Greenspire Linden, Hackberry, Bur Oak, or Princeton Elm tree here. Only one tree is allowed per household.

The City will host a pickup event for the trees on June 20.

City Forester Kendra Boot said the trees will help combat the invasive Emerald Ash Borer, and save residents money on their utility bills by reducing stormwater runoff and improving water quality.

Too bad the trees can't get rid of the miller moths.
