My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way spent the latter part of 2018 unleashing a few new songs, providing fans a definite welcome return after a rather quiet period following his 2014 Hesitant Alien solo set. It now appears as though Way isn't finished, as he's issued a lengthy, photo-filled recap of his 2018 complete with discussion of a potential new song.

Toward the upper portion of his posting, Way states, "Almost every Friday this year I got to make music again, which was great. Ended up with quite the collection of demos and even got to start releasing music again toward the end of the year. Glad music was playing a role in my life again, as I had been spending the last two years writing comics and working on television."

He goes on to add under another mask-centric photo, "2018 was a dark year full of black magic in my opinion and it got me thinking about witches again. I was inspired to buy this mask because I had just written a song called 'I Am the Hag,' which I haven't finished yet. It's kind of heavy. Maybe I'll release it in 2019."

While music is back in Gerard's world, as he stated comics and television have been at the forefront. His Umbrella Academy comic is being adapted for Netflix and he's continued to remain busy in the comics world.

Way's full update reflecting on 2018, which includes mentions of some of his favorite concerts and a loving tribute to his wife, can be read here.
