While some of us loathe everything about Winter, others realize this is when to get in on at least half of the fun Colorado offers.  Sometimes a simple staycation can make us feel almost perfect.  Other times, we would give anything for some actual excitement, so keep this page bookmarked!

*You seldom hear the words "Aspen" and "free" in the same sentence, but the 12 Days of Aspen will take you there, through December 31st.

*Estes in the Winter is way less crowded than in the Summer!  Just one reason the Estes Park Winter Festival on January 14-15th is a major delight.

*Get fireworks, live music, and tons more at both Steamboat and Winter Park's winter carnivals in February.

*Leadville, known for having rowdy and unique celebrations throughout the year, will fascinate with its Ski Joring Festival in March.  (Don't worry:  I had to find out what ski joring is, too.)

That's only the tip of the... uh... avalanche?  See a bunch more Colorado wintertime festivals here.
