After School Activities Canceled At Frederick High School In Colorado

Just after 2 pm today (March 28th, 2023) a message was sent to students canceling all after-school activities for the day.

Due to police activity in the area we are canceling all after school activities for today. We will reschedule games if needed.

The message to students was sent shortly after this email went out to parents of Frederick High School students.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Out of an abundance of caution, Frederick High School has been placed on Secure status due to police activity. All students are safe and classroom activities are continuing as usual. As a reminder, during a Secure status, students remain inside the school building and exterior doors and windows are locked and secured while classroom activities continue uninterrupted. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Student safety is our highest priority and we thank you for your continued support to ensure the safety of our community.

Sincerely,

Department of Communications

The above update was sent out around 2:30 pm letting parents know that the school release would be a "controlled release" under the supervision of local Frederick Police officers. While details are still unconfirmed as to what the police activity in the area was, or why they were being so cautious with the students, local parents are happy with the extra precautions that were taken to keep their kids safe, especially with the various school violence that has taken place in the last week in Denver and in Nashville. We will update this article if any more confirmed information is provided by the school or by the Frederick Police Department.
