Fort Collins Wins Best-Tasting Water Award
Water is the one thing that all living things cannot live without, and our sources tell us that the best-tasting water in Colorado is right at the end of our fingertips.
The Coloradoan reports that a panel of regional conference judges congregated and voted Fort Collins water the best-tasting water in the Rocky Mountains with Aurora, Colorado placing second. It is no surprise that our water is top-notch, but Fort Collins finally received the recognition it deserved when it comes to our impressive H20.
We can all give a round of applause to the Colorado-Big Thompson Project for this Fort Collins water accomplishment as they are the main care-takers of the water sources for Fort Collins. A combination of water from the Poudre River and Horsetooth Reservoir is what makes up the Fort Collins water supply; and with this duo, there is no secret as to why our water is so refreshing and crystal-clear.
Wyoming and New Mexico were both tough competitors for Colorado in this year’s annual conference of the Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works Association. Colorado’s victory will lead them to compete in the national “Best of the Best” water taste at next year’s AWWA conference in Orlando, Florida.
