A 37-year-old motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries on Thursday (August 29) after a crash, according to a Fort Collins Police press release.

Jonathan Jackman was traveling north on S. Shields Street on his motorcycle when he collided with a 2003 red Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 25-year-old Kyran Rausch.

The Grand Prix was turning onto S. Shields Street from Hill Pond Road when the crash occurred.

Rolland Moore Drive and Spring Creek Lane were closed for more than three hours for the ensuing investigation. Officers are still working to determine what factors led to the crash.

“We’ve seen too many serious injury crashes in the last several weeks,” said assistant Fort Collins Police Chief Tim Doran in a press release.

“We need our community's help to ensure safe roadways. If you travel in Fort Collins, please make a personal commitment to safety and encourage your family and friends to do so as well.”
