Fort Collins is Home to 3 Guinness World Records
I remember looking up world records when I was a kid in school. I vividly remember seeing a photo of a Guinness World Record holder for the longest fingernails. As a matter of fact, that image is burned into my head and I don't think that I will ever forget it. Currently, there are three Guinness World Records that were set in Fort Collins.
This record was set by Ottomotto LLC and Matt Grigsby on October 20, 2016, when the autonomous semi drove driverless for 131.99 miles from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.The semi drove on its own without any assistance from a lead vehicle. This record was confirmed by the American Transportation Research Institute.
The world record was set in December 2019 under a joint operation at three Anheuser-Busch locations. Fort Collins, St. Louis and Merrimack, NH locations. A total of 896 couples beat out the multiple venue record by 57 couples.
The Realities For Children Motorcycle Poker Run record was set on May 26, 2013, when 1,494 people raised $130,000 for abused children in Northern Colorado.
