Fort Collins Area Target Stores Raising Pay to $15 an Hour
Target is making good on a promise they made to raise the starting pay for employees to $15 an hour.
CNBC is reporting that all Target stores (including Fort Collins) will raise it's minimum wage to $15 starting July 5. Current employees will also receive a one-time bonus of $200 for working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Three years ago, Target said they would raise their minimum wage from $10 an hour to $15 over a period of three years. Last June they raised their minimum wage to $13 an hour and now they're fulfilling their $15 promise.
The company is taking extra care of their employees by extending benefits offered during the pandemic. That includes free backup care for employees children to special needs adults through August. Employees will also have access to free mental health counseling and 30-day paid leave period if they're considered "high risk" for COVID-19.
Well done Target!
