One former Denver Broncos quarterback will be guest bud tending at a marijuana dispensary in Colorado this month.

According to a Facebook event page, former Bronco and medical marijuana activist Jake Plummer will be signing autographs, bud tending, and recording his podcast "Snakes Takes" at The Honey Cellar in Boulder from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, November 19.

Plummer is one of several former members of the NFL that want marijuana's potential as a neuroprotectant to be acknowledged by the football organization. The substance is also what helped him to cope with physical pain said to be brought on by the rigorous sport.

"I had pain. That's why I left the game after 10 years," he recently told Bleacher Report. "It was just the beatdown. Having to take anti-inflammatories all year to get through the season. I didn't like the way my body was feeling."

It was the same pain that led him to question why he played football in the first place, noting he was at one point "miserable" and "pissed off."

Plummer's appearance at The Honey Cellar is expected to be informative of marijuana's health benefits, and of course it's also a great opportunity for his fans to connect on a personal, meaningful level beyond football.

The event is free but attendees obviously need to be at least 21 years of age.
