Looking back at my adolescent years, I have really fond memories of riding at Eldora. Winter Park, Keystone and Loveland... not so much.

Maybe that's because our car got stuck on I-70 in a blizzard in 2006, and I'm permanently scarred.

I grew up in the Denver suburbs, and there was a bus that I could take from my neighborhood to downtown Boulder, and then up the canyon right to the bottom of the slopes at Eldora. That was perfect for me, because I never had to worry about sliding off the road and into a frozen river outside Nederland (when my best friend and I were supposed to be in class...).

Sometimes, I feel like the non-I-70 resort doesn't get the appreciation it deserves, so this is basically my open love letter to Eldora.
