In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, national parks will be free of admission fees on Monday, January 20.

Typically, a one-day pass for Rocky Mountain National Park costs $25 per vehicle, so if you are off of work or school for MLK Day, you can enjoy the great outdoors free of charge on Monday.

'Free entrance days serve as additional motivation for people to get outside and enjoy these places of inspiration and recreation,' a National Park Service spokesperson said in a press release.

The good news is, we will continue to have mild, warmer weather for the next week, including Monday. However... you may have to battle the crowds as well. Rocky Mountain National Park has become one of the busiest national parks in the country in recent years, so for locals, it may be worth the $25 to go when there won't be a huge amount of visitors there.
