The heated rivalry will continue, but Friday's game at Mile High Stadium will mark the final time the CSU Rams will square off against CU Buffalo in Denver.

The Rocky Mountain Showdown began with a roar in 1998 and has continued each year in Denver with the exception of 2004-2005 when the game was played in Boulder. According to the Coloradoan, CU has won 12 of the 18 games played at Mile High Stadium and 66 of 90 overall.

But this game has come to symbolize more than just a box score. The rivalry takes on a new life when the game is played in front of 70,000 screaming fans. Things will change when games move from neutral territory to home turf. The two historic programs are scheduled to play again next year and in 2024 in Fort Collins and in 2023 in Boulder.

Tickets to the game are still tickets available online at CSURams.com/tickets or by calling (800) 491-7267 or in person at the McGraw Athletic Center ticket office through Thursday 8 AM to 5 PM.

Kickoff is at 8:10 Friday night and can also be viewed on ESPN if you're not headed out to the game. Do you think the Rocky Mountain Showdown will ever return to Denver or are you excited the games will now move to Fort Collins and Boulder?
