Mating season is upon the elk in Colorado. This season is known as the "Rut" and many people will venture to Estes Park to catch a glimpse of the action that the bull elk will put on for the spectators.

Most of us in Colorado know to steer clear of the elk as they can be aggressive, especially this time of year. The bulls have been known to charge and attack bystanders that get too close. This is exactly what happened this week in Estes Park.

Facebook user, Brian Berg, caught an attack by a bull elk on a woman wearing red as shown below.

Berg, who appears to work for Estes Park Public Works also captures one of the work trucks putting a barrier between the bull and the woman. The bull elk then proceeds to attack the truck.

The two combined videos have amassed over 600,000 views and more than 7,000 shares on Facebook in less than 24 hours.

Please let this be a reminder that you need to steer clear of wildlife as they can be aggressive and you can be injured. You, of course, are always encouraged to view the wildlife Colorado has to offer but do so at a safe distance.
