Super Bowl Champion Returns To Denver To Retire As A Bronco

When you think of all of the amazing wide receivers we've had play in the orange & blue as a part of the Denver Broncos, it would make it almost impossible for most to pick a top five. Think about NFL receiving superstars like Rod Smith, Eddie McCaffrey, Vance Johnson, Rick Upchurch, Eddie Royal, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, and the late great Demaryius Thomas. There's one name on that list that some might consider the greatest Denver wide receiver of all time, and he announced today that after twelve seasons, and five NFL teams, he's retiring from the NFL, and he's doing it as a Denver Bronco.

Former Denver Broncos wide receiver announced today, September 7th, 2022, that he was hanging up his cleats after 12 amazing seasons in the NFL. Emmanuel was drafted in 2010 by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but signed with the Denver Broncos in 2014 and played here until mid-way through the 2019 season. Denver was struggling and had been since the 2016 season, and both Emmanuel and the Broncos felt it was best for his career, to try something new, and they traded him to the San Francisco 49ers. He played the remainder of 2019 in San Francisco, the 2020 season in New Orleans, and this last season in Buffalo with the Bills. Being to two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos, winning one of them, it's no shocker that he decided to sign a one-day contract with Denver to retire a Bronco. Here's what E had to say at Broncos headquarters today during his retirement speech.

To me, Emmanuel will always be one of my absolute favorite Denver Broncos. Top 5 for sure. I had the chance to talk to him multiple times over his time in Denver, and my son and I got to meet him in person in Fort Collins in 2018, he was a true pleasure to chat with.
