The 54th "Great American Race," NASCAR's "Super Bowl," The Daytona 500 has once again come upon us. The race is scheduled to start at about 11:15 a.m. Mountain time, but forecasters are calling for a 70 percent chance of rain in the Daytona Beach area this afternoon, and most forecasts call for precipitation at or about the scheduled start time of the race. If rain postpones or shortens the race it'll still happen eventually, so, who do you think will win?

Carl Edwards will start at the front of the pack on Sunday for the 2012 Daytona 500 to open the NASCAR season. Edwards took the poll position after qualifying first this past weekend with the fastest time. Greg Biffle will be on the outside position, qualifying second. Just because these guys have a small head start over the rest of the field doesn't mean they are expected to win.

Vegas says Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick are the favorites with odds at 10/1 to win. 2011 Sprint Cup series champion Tony Stewart comes in at 11/1 just behind the others. Then comes Carl Edwards, who finished second last year in the Daytona 500. You can find all the odds here, and even put a little extra excitement into watching the cars turn left for 200 laps around the 2 and a half mile track by making a bet.

Coverage of the festivities at Daytona gets underway at 10 a.m. Mountain on FOX.
