Dave to Be in a Holey Board Tourney This Weekend? Do YOU play?

This Saturday I'll be putting my washer throwing skills to the test at a buddy's for his annual "Holey Board" tournament.  That's what he and HIS family call it, anyway.  I call it great summer fun!

Come in, take a look- do YOU play?

"David! Are you coming over for the holey board tourney?!"  "Heck ya, I am!"

Do you know this game?  My friend Al introduced me to it just a couple of years ago.  It seems kind of crazy: You stand on a board that has holes in it, and you toss washers across to the OTHER board with holes in it, to score points.  Fresh AstroTurf seems to be key to a great Holey Board set up.

I mentioned it to a co-worker, and she said "Oh yeah, we call that 'Washers'- I'm good at it!" "Washers", "Holey Board", whatever you want to call it- the game is great summer fun. It's not extremely difficult, there aren't a LOT of rules, and you can play it after having a couple of beers. It's kind of like bowling- but outside!

So, this Saturday, I hope win my friend's tournament and become "Chairman of the Boards".
