Not too long ago, there was the Stone Canyon Fire, which burnt at the exact same time as the Alexander Mountain Fire just miles away.

Fortunately, both of those fires have been extinguished.

However, another event unfolded on Thursday night that has affected multiple people in the city of Boulder.

This time, it involves a train crash.

Boulder Train Crash Injures 2, Causes Outages

In the late hours of Thursday night, two trains crashed into each other in Boulder, Colorado.

It caused many of the cars to derail from the tracks, and it caused pretty significant damage to a train bridge.

The conductors of each train got injured in the wreck. Fortunately, both of them escaped the situation with just minor injuries.

During the crash, a power line was taken out that caused the power in 92 households to go out.

All of the affected homes were near the crash. Fortunately, Xcel Energy workers were quickly on the scene and were able to gain power back by Friday morning.

Were There Any Other Effects From the Boulder Train Crash?

The crash itself actually took place at an intersection near Boulder Community Health. Even more specifically, it was between Pearl Parkway and at the intersection of Arapahoe Avenue and 48th Street.

This meant that cleanup crews were required to pick up the debris, closing off the roads in these areas.

Luckily, the area was cleaned up enough so that all of the roads could reopen at 7 am on Friday morning.

On the other hand, a major concern with the crash was fuel leaking into the nearby Boulder Creek.

In a huge stroke of luck, reports have found that sand spilled from one of the cars soaked up the majority of the fuel, meaning the creek was not contaminated.
