A baseball game between high school rivalries, the Manitou Springs Mustangs and St. Mary's Pirates, took an unusual turn last week, when there was a delay of game due to fawn interference.

At the top of the sixth inning, two deer decided to make their way onto the field at Manitou Springs High School, causing a ten minute interruption as players tried to shoo them away. With the help of the Manitou Springs shortstop, coach and athletic director, the deer eventually found their way off the diamond via a gate on the side of the field. With Manitou Springs being at the foot of Pike’s Peak, it's pretty common for wildlife to wander down in search of food – in fact, both the girls and boys soccer teams, as well as the football team have all had game delays due to wild animals. #ColoradoProblems
