She's a three-time All-American at CSU, played 16 seasons in the WNBA and was a six-time All-Star, she coached the San Antonio Spurs Summer League team to a Championship in 2015, was considered for the men's head basketball coaching job at CSU, and was recently a candidate for the head coaching job with the Milwaukee Bucks. Becky Hammon is breaking new ground for women in a man's sport as she has just been promoted with the San Antonio Spurs.

Hammon is the first female to serve as a full-time assistant and this promotion puts her a seat closer to head coach Gregg Popovich. She replaces James Borrego who left to become the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets. A seat closer puts her a step closer to becoming the first female NBA head coach.
