Coors Releases Special Pre-Prohibition Beer Only in Colorado
Coors is bringing back a century-old pre-prohibition recipe — but it's only available in Colorado. One of the (many) benefits of being such a brewery-populated state is that we may get a little bit of special treatment, at least in this case.
Coors is bringing back Batch 19, the recipe for which was discovered in an old logbook, at select locations in its home state of Colorado. Because 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of Prohibition, Coors wanted to do something special.
On the MillerCoors blog, AC Golden's President David Coors said, 'We wanted to do something special for Colorado beer drinkers.'
'Given how many people have been asking us about Batch 19 over the last few years, bringing it back was an obvious choice. More than 100 years ago, my great-great-grandfather had a vision of a flavorful and perfectly balanced lager that he could share with the people of Colorado. We’re thrilled to make that vision a reality again.' - David Coors
Where can you find it? 5280 has the full story behind Batch 19, as well as where you can try it here in the 21st century. Cheers!
