Colorado City Named One of the Worst Places to Rent
Here in Colorado, the cost of living has seemingly gotten out of control.
In fact, the average rent here in Colorado is some of the highest in the entire country at $1,594.
That’s the fifth highest.
Not just that, but people in places like Fort Collins are really starting to feel the sting of increasing rent prices all across the state.
However, last year, three Colorado cities were somehow ranked as some of the better places to rent in the country.
Now, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Aurora, Colorado Named One of the Worst Places to Rent in the Country
WalletHub created a ranking for the best and worst places to rent in the entire country, and Aurora found its way towards the bottom of the list.
They ranked each city in two categories: Rental market & affordability rank and quality of life rank.
In terms of rental market & affordability, Aurora ranks 101th. For quality of life, it ranks 161st.
In the end, Aurora placed 157th out of 182 cities in the United States when putting everything together. It finished with a total score of 37.87.
Where Do Denver and Colorado Springs Rank?
Denver finished just below the rest of the pack at 97th. It placed 52nd in terms of rental market & affordability but fell to 121st in quality of life.
It finished with a final placement of 97th and had a total score of 44.64, placing it just below the rest of the pack.
Colorado Springs gives Colorado a city that ranks above the average for once.
It has a rental market & affordability rank of 64th and 93rd in quality of life, giving it a final score of 47.00. That gives it a final ranking of 72nd.
What Are the Best and Worst Cities to Rent in the Country
The best city to rent in the United States is Bismarck, North Dakota.
It places 1st for the rental market & affordability rank, but is all the way down at 96th in quality of life. It would seem it takes the market and affordability aspect of things very seriously.
They gave Bismarck a total score of 64.51.
The worst place to rent in the country, according to WalletHub, is Memphis, Tennessee.
It places 168th in rental market & affordability and dead last in quality of life at 182nd. This gives them a final score of 26.22.
