Sure, the Rockies got smoked by the Giants on Monday 7-0, but before the game even started, Colorado kids were big-time winners.

While getting ready to be a part of the first pitch at Coors Field on Monday, Governor John Hickenlooper (above, left) signed House Bill 12 -1295 into effect-right there at the stadium.

The "Colorado Rockies License Plate" bill will make available, a new designer license plate that Colorado drivers can purchase for an extra charge to sport their Rockies Pride.

To get the new plate drivers must make a $52.80 donation to The Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Foundation.  That foundation, along with the Colorado Rockies Charity Fund thus far have donated over $20 million to underprivileged and at-risk kids in Colorado.

The plates will be available in January 2013- just in time for NEXT season.  Until then, you'll just have to make a donation and get a Rockies license plate cover!
