Colorado Rated as One of the Most Fun States
Colorado definitely has its issues, just like any other state, but we certainly seem to know how to make the best of it.
There are a ton of awesome places to go and things to see here in Colorado.
Yeah, there’s plenty of places like Aspen that seem to get all of the shine. In fact, it once got rated as Colorado’s best tourist attraction, which honestly feels sort of wrong. If you’re absolutely swimming in money, then maybe you’ll have fun.
But there’s so many other attractions and things to do that not only rival the bougie options in ski towns like Aspen, but in many ways can be even better experiences.
As it would turn out, we’re not just saying this because of state pride, but it’s backed up by a new study.
Colorado Rated as the Fifth Most Fun State in the Country
WalletHub recently wanted to take a look at each state to see which one is the most fun.
They looked at numerous different variables, 26 to be exact, to see which states not only had the most fun, but saved the most money doing so.
These 26 variables were broken down into two categories: Entertainment & recreation rank and nightlife rank.
A state’s entertainment & recreation rank is based on many different variables, including things like the restaurants per capita, a state’s access to national parks, and just the total number of attractions amongst many others.
For the Nightlife rank, they looked at things like the prices of movie tickets, the average beer & wine price, the time of last call, and more.
When it comes to Colorado’s entertainment & recreation rank, we clock in at 5th on the list. This likely is due to the incredible national parks in our backyards along with the sheer number of attractions they provide amongst other things.
On the other hand, we still love going out at night. Colorado has a total nightlife ranking of 9th.
This gives Colorado a final “fun” score of 52.89, which places it at 5th in WalletHub’s ranking.
What are the Most and Least Fun States
When it comes to the most fun state in the country, Florida is able to come away with that honor.
As a tourist, not only can you visit places like Disney World or Universal Studios, but there’s access to tons of beaches and amazing nightlife as well.
It had a total score of 65.51, which barely beat out California, who finished with a score of 65.14.
When it comes to the least fun state in the country, that dubious honor unfortunately goes to West Virginia. They have a total score of 17.01. We almost feel bad, since West Virginia seems to always be at the bottom of these kinds of lists.
