Just east of Castle Rock, you can find this really cool outdoor space called Castlewood Canyon State Park. The canyons full of rocks and waterfalls are amazing, but recently, the park has been recognized for something else.

CBS Denver shared that Castlewood Canyon State Park "received a prestigious designation from The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. They became the 12th park of any kind in the United States to be deemed a Gold Standard Site." The designation means they have really strived for excellence in Leave No Trace Outdoor skills, ethics, staff training, literature, and visitor events.
