Colorado is getting closer to five percent COVID-19 positivity rate, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment tweeted, which is a significant marker of progress. 

According to John Hopkins University, 'World Health Organization (WHO) advised governments that before reopening, rates of positivity in testing should remain at 5% or lower for at least 14 days.'

Colorado's positivity rate has been higher than five percent since mid October. On Thursday, January 21, CDPHE reported Colorado's positivity rate was 5.22 percent.

Additionally, 70,000 Coloradans had received both COVID-19 vaccine doses, and 333,632 had received one dose as of Friday, January 22. Colorado's population is close to 5.8 million.
