Here's this week's reminder not to feed the wildlife in Colorado. Exhibit A: Deer With Raging Testosterone Take Over Local Subway.

KDVR just released a report about a Subway employee in Georgetown who was caught on camera throwing bread to deer. A witness described the incident in the most Colorado way anyone could, explaining that the employee was tossing bread to the heard of deer 'Payton Manning style.' (See video below from KDVR.)

Deer, like the rest of us, can smell that weirdly distinct and recognizable Subway smell from a mile away, and love that $5 foot-long honey wheat sub bread. For the love of carbs, who can resist?

So, what's the harm in deer eating fresh? It's not like it's fast food or anything. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has warned that we need to let nature be, and attracting deer into town isn't safe for wildlife, or people.

The Takeout reports that deer 'have a lot of testosterone running through them right now and they’re kind of revved up.' Yikes. I think there is another foot-long joke here, but I'm going to let it go.

Oh, also it is illegal, and has been since 1992. From Colorado Parks and Wildlife: 'It is illegal in Colorado to intentionally place or distribute feed, salt blocks or other attractants for big-game animals. This problem is mainly associated with deer.'

Via KDVR:

Anyway, feed the deer and it'll cost you ten $5 foot-longs.
