Coloradans Pay Some of the Highest Monthly Bills in the Country
While living in Colorado has numerous perks, there has been one drawback that has been rearing its ugly head recently; the cost.
Yes, Colorado is awesome, but it is quickly becoming a place where the prices for many things are getting way too expensive.
On average, people are having to pay truly ludicrous amounts of money for things like rent.
Typically, Colodarans have to pay $1,594 in rent per month, which means we have the fifth highest monthly average rent in the country.
Not to mention, with the housing market becoming more inaccessible by the day, there’s no wonder many Coloradans are struggling.
However, getting a place to stay is half the battle. Afterwards, you have to pay monthly household bills.
As it would turn out, we rank quite highly for that as well.

In Colorado, the average monthly household bill is $2,553 per month. This means that Coloradans spend, on average, $30,637 per year on household bills.
If you think that sounds pretty expensive, you’re not wrong.
In fact, that means we spend the 9th most of any state on monthly household bills. We’re a full 20% over the national average.
