Coloradans Experience More Toxic Relationships Than Average
Here in Colorado, you can definitely find romance in many different places.
For some, you’ll be able to find them in towns like Crested Butte, Durango, and Telluride, which were each individually named as some of the most romantic places in the United States.
Even some of our cities, like Denver and Colorado Springs, have been noted to be great for weddings. They actually rank as the 6th and 5th best places to get married in the entire country.
However, it would seem that it may not be all sunshine and roses here in Colorado.
In fact, there may be more people who have found themselves in unsavory relationships than one might think.
Colorado Ranks as 10th Worst State for Toxic Relationship Worries
Recently, the website QR Code Generator of all places came up with a study to find out which states struggle the most with toxic relationships.
Interestingly, they did so because the new season of the hit show, Emily in Paris, will be focusing on toxic relationships.
To find which states worried the most about possible toxic traits in their partners, they looked at how often each state looked up related Google search terms. For example, they used search phrases like ‘is my relationship toxic’ and ‘how to get out of a toxic relationship’ for the study.
They then found how often people search terms like these per 100,000 residents.
For Colorado, the state had 2.92 Google searches per 100,000 residents, which places it 10th on the list. That’s 17% higher than the national average.
Who Ranks Higher Than Colorado?
The state that has the most worries about toxic relationships is Hawaii, at 4.59 searches per 100,000 residents. That’s 84% higher than the national average.
However, our neighbors up north, Wyoming, searches the second most at 4.42 searches per 100,000 residents, which is 78% higher than the average.
The full Top 10 is:
