My little girl turns 5 this Sunday (June 9th), she has talked about this day for about a year straight. Birthdays are a big deal when you are young, and she is so excited. But if you have followed me over the last few months you know I probably won't get to be with my little Shai for the big day. Besides my kids music is my life, so I decided the best way to celebrate in my situation was to write a song...

I cannot put into words what my intern, Romero, did for me with this song. I told him a few weeks back I wanted to write and record a song and he agreed, but neither of us ever got a chance to sit down and work on it. Next thing we knew, it was time for it to be done. He had a few ideas in his head, but basically we wrote (mosty him) and recorded (almost all him) the most beautiful song I have ever heard in about a three hour period yesterday.

Now remember, the equipment we used is made for talking into on the radio and not for recording singing and instruments, and that makes what came out even more special. With a tiny bit of work I could hear this song on the radio.

I have said it before, but this solidifies my belief that Romero is the most talented guy I know. I cant even put into words what this song means to me, and there are no words I can think of to thank him for helping me make it happen.

I know someday this song will mean as much to the princess it's about as it does to me... I hope you enjoy it as well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Monkey. I love you more than you will ever know!
