We have some of the most unpredictable weather in the entire country. In fact, the Washington Post found that Paonia, Colorado has the most unpredictable weather in the entire country. 

However, as summer continues, the sweltering heat starts to kick in.

Throughout Colorado this weekend, we will be experiencing a heatwave that could break some records.

Major Heatwave Making its Way to Colorado This Weekend

This weekend, you can expect not only hotter than usual temperatures, but some seriously dangerous levels of heat.

Pretty much everywhere across the Front Range, you can expect temperatures to reach over 100 degrees.

In Fort Collins, the heat has a chance to set records.

According to the Coloradoan, the highest temperature ever recorded in Fort Collins was 103 degrees. 

If AccuWeather is to be believed, that could be topped this Friday with a mark of 105 degrees.

Even more incredibly, that record may not stand for long. On Monday, AccuWeather predicts temperatures reaching 106 degrees, and on Sunday, we may see temperatures rise all the way up to 108.

If that happens, Fort Collins’ record high would be shattered by a staggering five degrees.

Regardless, Fort Collins and most of Colorado seems to be on a collision course with four days above 100 degrees. 

What is the Hottest Temperature Recorded in Colorado?

Back in 2019, Colorado was going through a similar heatwave.

At the John Martin Dam near Lamar, Colorado, a temperature of 115 degrees fahrenheit was recorded, breaking the record by one degree.

In general, the Eastern Plains are arguably the hottest region in the state. However, the Western Slope can get similarly warm as well.
