Today organizers of Bolder Boulder, one of the nation's largest 10ks, announced at Odell Brewing they would be expanding the race to Fort Collins.

The race will be a new Labor Day 10k in Fort Collins beginning in 2017. Event organizers told The Coloradoan that it would be the first public event at CSU's new stadium.

The race will end at the new CSU stadium while runners will enjoy a route showcasing city landmarks and neighborhoods. Runners will be able to see the new stadium one week before the Rams officially open it on September 9, 2017. The race start will be near Moby Arena, at the corner of Shields and Elizabeth.

A separate race for elite runners is expected to grab the attention of some top athletes in our region. Registration opens Nov. 1; information is available at www.fortitude10k.com
