The Old Town Fort Collins Ben & Jerry's won't have its annual Free Cone Day this April. Along with dozens of cancellation and postponement announcements today, from concerts to the Old Town St. Patrick's Day celebration, the ice cream company stated it, too, will be postponing the 'public gathering' that was scheduled for Tuesday, April 14.

'This year, some of our scoop shops in communities around the world will be unable to take part in Free Cone Day due to precautions put in place by local governments around large public gatherings, considering the increasing presence of COVID-19,' Ben & Jerry's said on its website. 'So, to stand in solidarity with ice cream lovers everywhere, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Free Cone Day this year.'

Ben & Jerry's also stated that it hopes to reschedule its 'favorite day of the year,' Free Cone Day, which gives them a chance to thank fans all around the world with a free scoop of Fairtrade ice cream. For now, its shops remain open. See additional cancellations and postponements via CBS4 Denver.
