The latest Bachelor star and current Denver resident, Ben Higgins, is "seriously considering a run" for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives.

According to The Colorado Independent, Higgins would run to represent House District 4. The 28-year-old software consultant, who got engaged to Lauren Bushnell, 26, on the show, has even launched a website to round up local supporters.

Higgins would be running against Speaker Pro Tem Dan Pabon, a Democrat who was recently arrested for suspicion of DUI in March. While Republicans have already nominated Willie Pinkston to run against Pabon, Pinkston says he'll step aside if Higgins chooses to run.

"I'd be happy to (step aside)," Pinkston told The Independent. "He's got name recognition...we'd love to support him since he wants to run and is capable."

Higgins told The Independent in a statement: "Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure...Lauren and I aren't sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family and for Lauren and me."
