If there's one silver lining of being a renter, it's having utility-inclusive rent (woop!). Homeowners, take note that as of October 1, fall peak hours went into effect for Fort Collins utilities, meaning time-of-day pricing is now in place until April 30.

Through the summer, peak hours were weekdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m, but for the winter, those hours change. Now, Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., your utilities will cost more than daytime and weekends. This is because, according to City of Fort Collins, 80 percent of customers us electricity during those peak hours.

Fortunately, holidays are considered off peak, including New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you want to see how time-of-day pricing will affect your utility bill, visit the City of Fort Collins.
