Northern Coloradans saw their favorite summer concerts and festivals get canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While there's no word on allowed gathering sizes for 2021, the outdoor events of Taste of Fort Collins, Greeley Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days have at least booked talent they hope to take the stage.

With vaccines being administered and COVID hospitalizations dropping, there may be some optimism for summer concerts — even if the events have limited capacity.

I know there are plenty of Northern Colorado music fans ready to get back to live concerts of headlining artists. Our fingers are certainly crossed.

Here's who is currently booked to perform, which, of course, is always subject to change:

Taste of Fort Collins

The annual food and music festival is currently scheduled to have 90's rockers Collective Soul and Spin Doctors take the stage.

Collective Soul will return to the event it also headlined in 2014. The Atlanta-based rock group is best known for its hits “Shine,” “December” and “The World I Know.”

Spin Doctors are a popular New York City-based rock group known for its early 1990’s hits “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong."

Greeley Stampede

The annual concert series, rodeo and carnival would have turned 100 this year had the 2020 event been held. Instead, organizers are hoping to host the 99th event in 2021 and celebrate it's century birthday in 2022.

Currently booked for the event are Brett Young, 3 Doors Down, Dwight Yoakam, Jon Pardi, and HARDY and Lauren Alaina.

Cheyenne Frontier Days

Just north of the border in Cheyenne, Wyoming, ‘The Daddy of The Em All’ organizers recently said they are "optimistic" that the 2021 concert series and rodeo will occur in some fashion.

The Cheyenne Frontier Days website currently lists music headliners of Thomas RhettEric Church with Ashley McBryde and Blake Shelton.
