2021 Fishing Licenses Now Required in Colorado
The arrival of all this sunny weather has been perfectly timed for the start of Colorado's 2021 fishing season.
But before you head out angling, make sure to purchase a new fishing license. The new licenses began selling on March 1 and are valid through March 31, 2022.
Colorado residents 18 and older can get an annual pass for $36.08 — it is $100.57 for a nonresident. Coloradan seniors 65 and older can get an annual pass for $10.07. Daily fishing licenses are also available to both residents and non residents.
Licenses can be purchased at sales agents, CPW offices, online or by phone at 1-800-244-5613.
If you just want to test out one weekend of fishing, wait until the first weekend of June when free fishing days are allowed throughout the state.
There are some new fishing regulations in effect in 2021 on Larimer County waterways:
- New Berthoud Reservoir: Bag, possession limit for crappie and redear sunfish is 10 fish in aggregate, min. of 10 inches long. Largemouth and smallmouth bass must be returned to water immediately.
- New Boedecker Reservoir: Minimum size for crappie is 10 inches long.
- Horseshoe Reservoir: Minimum size for walleye and saugeye is 15 inches long. No more than 1 walleye or saugeye in aggregate greater than 21 inches long may be taken per day.
- Lake Loveland: Minimum size for walleye and saugeye is 15 inches long. No more than 1 walleye or saugeye in aggregate greater than 21 inches long may be taken per day.
- Roaring Creek & Tributaries: Artificial flies and lures only. Cutthroat must be returned to water immediately.
