When the weather and wind cooperate this is by far one of the most magical and fun events in Northern Colorado. Plus, it's free. Put May 15th on your calendar and get your kite ready, or just come and watch. There are plenty of food trucks and activities to make this a nice outing at Spring Canyon Park in Fort Collins. Thousands of people expected to attend, so carpool or bike if you can. The 9th Annual Kites in the Park is May 15th, 2016 from 10am to 4pm at Spring Canyon park in Fort Collins and it's free

From FCGOV.com:

Kites in the Park is a FREE family-friendly community event that celebrates all things kites. We’ll welcome fliers from around the world who will perform ballets, battle kites, and fly giant tiger, fish and bird kites. The Confucious Institute at Colorado State University will once again bring cultural displays and beautiful kites from China. Youth are welcome to make their own kites to take home. Enjoy great food, activities, demonstrations, and giveaways all day.

NEW! This year, we’ve expanded attractions throughout the entire park! Free parking will be available off-site and we’ll have free shuttles to bring you to the park. Carpooling and shuttle transport strongly encouraged. With nearly 8,000 visitors, the park fills up fast!
