What’s Your Favorite TV Documentary Series? [POLL]

I have never considered myself much of a TV watcher. Now, I am starting to get older, lazier, and the TV seems to be on more. The Food Network, History Channel, Travel Channel, and TruTV seem to dominate my TV at night as reality documentary type shows sure keep me entertained. Do you like these shows too? Which is your favorite?

The History channel has launched PawnStars.com – a new website portal where fans of the television series, “Pawn Stars,” can pawn items via Pawngo, watch episodes of “Pawn Stars,” play the hugely popular Pawn Stars Facebook game, purchase merchandise and connect with the network’s hit show. The site officially launches Monday, timed to the premiere of all new episodes of “Pawn Stars” on History.

Before there was a phenomenon of these documentary style TV shows, there was the first, longest running, and probably most successful of its kind standing alone. COPS started in 1989 and is still going strong.

Now there is just about every profession being followed around with cameras, along with specialty shows that show a wide array of different things under one topic.

It all started for me back in 2005 when I was flipping through channels and found a show called Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. I was hooked on the show that took the host, Mike Rowe, to all sorts of difficult, strange, disgusting, or messy occupational duties alongside the typical employees. From then on, I have found myself watching all sorts of these type of shows. I got my Food Network motor running while watching a show called Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives where host Guy Fieri travels the country looking for the best hole in the wall type restaurants. Along with many others, my favorites today are Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, Man vs. Food, and Pawn Stars.
