What Comes After the Self Checkout? King Soopers is About to Show Us.

"Scan-Bag-Go" is kind of how it's been done forever.  Soon, that will mean something entirely different at many King Soopers stores.  This new procedure will have us scanning our groceries in the aisle, before placing them in our cart/bag/basket/whatever.  Then, we simply pay at the self checkout and get on our way!

This has been tested in Kroeger (parent company of King Soopers) stores in Cincinnati for about five years, and now the testing continues at some Arizona locations.

Do you think this would improve the shopping experience?  People will be spending more time in the aisles, but way less time getting out of the store afterwards.

No word yet on which stores will get Scan-Bag-Go next, but we should be hearing more early this year.
