The highway, which is the main route from Northern Colorado to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, has been closed throughout the fall for extensive repairs of the damage and devastation caused by the 2013 flood.

Consequentially, traffic has been redirected around the canyon, sometimes adding hours to travel times. US 34 will re-close and construction will resume at 8:30 a.m. on January 3. For more information, you can visit cdot.gov.
