When I come to work everyday it is usually about entertaining, having some fun, and playing some good music. I am honored that I get to do that everyday, but I feel the need to use my voice for more than just fun and games, but also to make a difference. I do that every year with my benefit event, Lures 4 Laney, but I need your help!

Over the last couple months you have surely heard me talking about Lures 4 Laney, my charity event that memorializes a little girl from Northern Colorado who lost her life to cancer a few years back, and benefits Children's Hospital Colorado. It's something that is extremely important to me, and it was clear that I wasn't alone in that. The Loudwire family stepped up and made it great.

Last July, you may remember us putting on an event to remember a little girl Northern Colorado lost to brain cancer a few years back, Delaney Wadsworth. Lures 4 Laney was held at Water Valley in Windsor and raised almost $10,000 in Delaney's name for children's cancer research at Children's Hospital Colorado. Tomorrow is the big day (September 21st). We gather at Ricky B's in Windsor with 10 of the best bands in Colorado to remember a little girl we lost a couple years ago and also put our best effort forward in trying to end the disease that took her away from us. But, it's not just another radio event for me, this one goes deep.

Chris Romero is one of the most accomplished rock musicians the state of Colorado has ever seen. Most of his success has come from his bands Sick and Drug Under, but now he is trying something a little different... A solo record. In my line of work I get to go to concerts, meet rock stars, and all around I get paid to have a good time, but there is nothing that I cherish about my job more than making a difference. Once a year I get to do just that with my charity event called Lures 4 Laney. What started as a fishing event, has now evolved into a rock show on September 21st at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins.

I have been in radio for 6 years now, some would call me a young pup, but in that short amount of time I have gotten to meet and experience a ton of cool things. There is one thing that stands way above the rest as the most important to me and what I am most proud of... An event I put on one year ago today called "Lures 4 Laney."

Before there was rock in Northern Colorado, I was still doing my thing. My thing was just a little different. A show on an oldies and country station was my pre-Butch routine. Although, I finally have my dream job, I am still proud of some of things I accomplished before Loudwire existed. I was honored to receive two awards at this years Colorado Broadcaster's Association Awards.
