There must be something in the water the coaches drink at the Budweiser Events Center that every so often makes their blood boil. A few years ago the Colorado Eagles received national attention as their assistant coach Greg Pankewicz stripped almost naked in protest of a call. This time it was the head coach who threw a fit, but thankfully stayed fully clothed.

For a sports fan there is no better experience than watching an all star game (unless it's in the NFL). To see the best players in the league all gather in one place is special, and today  most professional sports leagues make it incredibly special for the host city. The host city for this years ECHL All Star Game happens to be Loveland. That game takes place tonight at the Budweiser Events Center

The Colorado Eagles defeated the Ontario Reign 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland clinching the fourth seed in the ECHL Western Conference, giving Colorado home-ice advantage in the first round. It has been a ton of fun watching the hometown Colorado Eagles dominate the Central Hockey League (CHL) over the first eight seasons of existence, but now it's time for bigger and better things. The Eagles announced Tuesday that they will be leaving the CHL to join the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

I can't imagine how loud it must have been at the Budweiser Events Center last night as The Colorado Eagles trounced the Mudbugs in game 6 of the President Cup Finals in the CHL.

Last night in a hard fought battle the Colorado Eagles beat the defending Central Hockey League Champion's, Rapid City Rush in a hard fought battle 1-0 in Rapid City, South Dakota. The win advances the Eagles to the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Finals against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

The Colorado Rockies were able to slip by the Mets last night at Coors Field 2-1, while the Colorado Eagles were edged out by the Rapid City Rush 3-2, forcing game number seven in the Turner Conference Finals in Rapid City.
