A Northern Colorado man was pinned down and killed by a tractor on Friday.

According to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Boulder County Communications Center received a call at around 2:20 p.m. of a man pinned under a tractor at a residence in the 9500 block of Vermillion Road.

BCSO deputies and members other agencies arrived at the scene to find the 87-year-old man, who lived alone on the property, was deceased. He appeared to have been standing beside the tractor but in front of the rear tire, while the machine was in gear. The unidentified man was discovered later in the day pinned under the rear tire by a family member who had stopped by.

No foul play is suspected at this time and BCSO will continue the investigation in conjunction with the Boulder County Coroners Office.
