Animal shelters in Fort Collins are joining forces for a large adoption event on Saturday, October 8, to get dogs, cats, and other animals into a loving, permanent home.

According to the Coloradoan, Larimer Humane Society, Fort Collins Cat Rescue, and Animal House Rescue and Grooming are hosting the collaborative adoption event at Poudre Pet and Feed Supply, 622 N. College Avenue with dogs and cats, as well as puppies and kittens. The event is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and people will have the opportunity to adopt animals at a discounted rate.

Initial vaccines, treatment for internal parasites, spay or neuter procedures, microchip, registration, and a post-adoption medical exam donated by a local veterinarian are included in all dog and cat adoptions. Animals over 4 months of age will receive a rabies vaccination, as well.

Licensing fees are not included. (It's only a $12 fee, anyway. Not expensive at all.)
