The first big free agency loss has occurred for the Broncos, and it's not the loss of Brock Osweiler that some expect. This one has affected the vaunted Denver defense.

ESPN is reporting that Malik Jackson has said he will sign a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, which would reunite him with former Bronco Julius Thomas.

The deal is reportedly worth six years and $90 million.

The new "league year" begins Wednesday at 4pm so nothing can be officially announced until then.

A fifth round pick of the Broncos back in 2012, Jackson had 45 tackles this season for Denver and played a integral part in the Super Bowl victory in February.

The question now is if this means the money is there for Brock Osweiler, and if he will accept it. Reports surfaced at the end of last week that the Broncos offer to Osweiler was 3 years valued at $45 million.

Reports say that Houston is going to be tough competition for Osweiler in free agency, and he could end up heading to the Texans for a bigger payday. Houston is in need of a starting quarterback who could take them to the next level.

That quarterback in the end could be Brock.
